Drivers must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid full driver licence for at least 12 months.

International licences must be in English or accompanied by an International Driving Permit.

Only drivers listed in the agreement may drive the vehicle.

Unauthorised drivers automatically void ALL insurance and the renter becomes fully liable.

Vehicles must NOT be used for:
• racing, drifting, or reckless driving
• illegal purposes
• off‑road driving or unsuitable roads
• towing unless approved
• driver training
• carrying dangerous goods

Commercial use (Uber, rideshare, delivery or similar) is ONLY allowed if Guided NZ has approved this in writing.

The renter accepts the vehicle in photographed condition.

Guided NZ may rely on timestamped photos/videos taken before or after rental as proof of condition.

The renter must:
• keep the vehicle secure
• check oil, coolant, tyres, and warning lights
• stop driving immediately if a fault appears

Damage caused by ignoring warnings becomes the renter’s responsibility.

Smoking or vaping inside the vehicle is strictly prohibited.

Standard smoke cleaning fee: up to NZD $300.

Excessive dirt, sand, stains, or odours may incur professional cleaning charges.

Pets require prior approval.

Full payment is required before release of the vehicle.

A security bond will be held or charged.

The renter authorises Guided NZ to charge their payment method for:

• insurance excess or any damage
• tyre or windscreen damage
• incorrect fuel
• missing fuel
• cleaning fees
• late return charges
• tolls, parking, speeding or council fines
• towing or recovery costs
• administrative processing fees

Vehicles are insured with a stated excess.

Insurance becomes INVALID if:

• the agreement is breached
• an unauthorised driver drives
• driver is under alcohol or drugs
• reckless or dangerous driving occurs
• incorrect fuel is used
• water, river, or flood damage occurs
• driver leaves the scene without reporting

If insurance is invalid, the renter must pay ALL costs including third‑party damage.

The renter is fully responsible for ALL:

• speeding tickets
• parking tickets
• council enforcement penalties
• bus lane or restricted zone fines
• toll notices

Guided NZ may:

• transfer the renter’s details to authorities
• charge an administration fee per notice
• charge unpaid fines directly

This applies even if notices arrive after the rental ends.

For safety, theft protection, insurance compliance, and recovery purposes, vehicles may contain GPS tracking devices.

By renting the vehicle, the renter consents to this monitoring.

The renter must notify Guided NZ immediately after any accident, damage, warning light, or breakdown.

Police must be contacted where legally required.

Failure to report promptly may result in full liability.

Late return without approval may incur hourly or full‑day charges.

If the vehicle is abandoned, the renter must pay all recovery and storage costs.

48+ hours before pickup → Full refund
Within 48 hours → 50% refund
No‑show → No refund

These terms are governed by New Zealand law.

All disputes fall under New Zealand courts.
