The renter confirms the vehicle condition, mileage, fuel level, tyres, and photos at pickup are correct and accepts responsibility for the vehicle until return.

The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level. Missing fuel will be charged at market fuel price plus a NZD $40 refuelling service fee.

Diesel fuel price in New Zealand does NOT include government road tax. For diesel vehicles, Road User Charges apply based on distance travelled.

Distance is calculated from odometer readings at pickup and return. Current light diesel rate is approximately NZD $76 per 1000 km (NZD $0.076 per km).

The renter authorises Guided NZ to charge this amount after return if required.

If incorrect fuel is used, the renter is responsible for towing, drainage, repairs, inspections, and loss of bookings.

A minimum administration charge of NZD $150 applies plus all repair and recovery costs.

Vehicles must be returned in reasonable cleanliness.

Excessive dirt, sand, stains, strong odours, smoking residue, or pet hair may result in cleaning charges typically ranging from NZD $120 to $400 depending on severity.

The renter is responsible for the safe keeping of the vehicle keys at all times. Loss, theft, or damage to keys, key fobs, or remote locking devices may result in replacement, reprogramming, towing, locksmith services, and administrative costs.

If roadside assistance is required due to renter actions including leaving lights on, draining the battery, lockout situations, or misplaced keys, the renter agrees to pay the full call-out and recovery cost.

Typical roadside charges may range between NZD $120 and $300 depending on location and service.

The renter is responsible for all parking tickets, speeding fines, tolls or penalties.

Guided NZ may charge the fine plus an administration fee of NZD $25 per notice.

Late returns may incur charges of NZD $30 per hour for the first three hours, after which a full daily rental rate may apply.

Damage caused by negligent or unsafe driving, misuse of the vehicle, ignoring warning lights, or failure to take reasonable care may result in additional repair, recovery, and administration charges.

By signing this agreement, the renter authorises Guided NZ to charge the provided payment method for any applicable rental fees, fuel, RUC, cleaning, damage, fines, late return charges, roadside costs, or other contractual amounts.
